Explore and learn more about your community at the Armenian Museum of America. What began as a group of Armenian educators, professionals, and business leaders gathering Armenian books and artifacts had become an entire collection. The museum officially opened its doors to the public in 1985.
2011 was a turning point for the museum’s history. When Estrellita Karsh donated a collection of photographs by her husband, Yousuf Karsh. Which led to both museum galleries being completely renovated to permanently display works of art such as manuscripts, rugs, ceramics, photography, and textiles.
The Armenian Museum of America is the most prominent Armenian museum outside of Armenia. Today, the museum’s collection has over 25,000 artifacts including coins, stamps, maps, textiles, and rugs. But the museum is more than a collection of artifacts. It’s a living museum of artifacts and programs.
Open Thursdays through Sundays from 12 non until 6 pm. Armenian Museum members receive free admission, non-member admission cost $15, students & seniors get in for $5, and children under 18 are free.
